Kawasaki's Z7 HYBRID is a unique powertrain combining a 451 cm3 internal combustion engine and a compact electric motor. It is with this combination that the world's first hybrid motorcycle offers riders a range of new riding experiences: a mid-size package with the instant acceleration of a 1000cc supersport model from a standing start (e-boost), fuel economy equal to the 250cc class, and electronic gear shifting in sport mode (otherwise automatic). On the heels of Kawasaki's game-changing Ninja 7 Hybrid is the Z7 Hybrid, which features three different driving modes, each with its own driving characteristics and a host of innovative features for riders to explore, truly part of a new era in the riding experience.

| To prevent overheating, e-boost is limited to 15 seconds. When activated, the acceleration is stronger when the throttle is turned and the top speed increases. | |
| If all conditions are met, the e-boost indicator will appear grey on the display to indicate that it is available. The e-boost function is activated by pressing the e-boost button on the right handle. Once activated, the display will turn purple, e-boost will appear on the display and more power will be available. When the throttle is open more than a certain degree, a 15-second timer is triggered (indicated by the decreasing e-boost indicator). When the timer runs out, the e-boost function will be switched off. | |
