The Michelin Road motorcycle tire series turns 20 this year, and Michelin is celebrating it with the new Michelin Road 6 and Road 6 GT tires.
Michelin claims that the Road 6 has better grip on wet roads. In numbers, this means 15 percent better grip on wet surfaces and 10 percent longer lifespan.
The Michelin Road 6 features a new tread pattern that helps channel water away from the tire. Michelin's X-Sipe technology for the tread pattern combines forces with Michelin's Water Evergrip technology, which helps keep the tire properly on wet roads after significant wear.
The Road 6 GT distinguishes itself with an additional layer in the tire. Michelin calls this the reinforced Radial-X Evo technology (formerly Michelin 2AT Technology), and it makes the GT an improved version of the Road 6 that can also handle heavier motorcycles. The standard Road 6 uses Michelin Radial-X technology.
